MINUSTAH in Haiti

Port-au-Prince, Haiti – 17 July 2008

The United Nations Stabilization Mission In Haiti (MINUSTAH) is a peacekeeping mission that has been installed in Haiti in 2004 by the United Nations. The MINUSTAH military section is led by the Brazilian Army. In spite of the undoubted efforts that have been made by the UN, MINUSTAH soldiers became a symbol of the occupation and therefore they are generally not welcomed by the Haitian population.
