Plastic Art
Cali, Colombia – 2 April 2004
Jhón Jairo Morales, a Colombian street artist, is an author of the original sculpture technique. Collecting and recycling of used plastic cups from the city dustbins allows him to create simple shaped plastic figures, usually animals. The technique is based on melting down plastic in burner fire. Then he shapes fused plastic mechanically and gives the material a design. The artistic process is closed by sinking a figure into the cold water. The artist works and sells his sculptures in the Metropolitan Park of Cali.
